Mother Earth Drives a Honda

October 29, 2007 Sheldon Kotyk 5 comments

2. you americans only got what you deserved : you guys are the worst animals of the world, the first polluters the responsible for the environmental collapse of our world by striking mother earth with your “standarts of living”. Well mother Earth warns you with these fires : change your behaviour, respect our planet and the other peoples of the world otherwise you will feel the Earth wrath. But I doubt you guys will change your way of living, you love too much your gas guzzling SUVs and are too selfish to change

From the comments on this article at the LA Times.

Key point from the articles.

Investigators have said that at least two of the huge wildfires, one in Orange County and the other in Temecula, were the work of arsonists.

and

Amid worries of new blazes adding to the firestorm already afflicting the region, a man in Hesperia has been arrested on suspicion of arson, and police reported shooting and killing another arson suspect after chasing him out of scrub behind Cal State San Bernardino.

This one is interesting too. I guess Mother Nature outsources its arsoning.

The woman called police, and Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies were soon looking for the suspect, who witnesses said took off on a Honda motorcycle, wearing a red-and-white-striped helmet.

ACLU: Black American's More Likely to Be Caught with their Pants Down.

August 23, 2007 Sheldon Kotyk Leave a comment

There’s an uproar in Atlanta. No, Michael Vick has not been caught catfighting.

This is something that everyone of us have had to deal with in the past.

Baggy pants that show boxer shorts or thongs would be illegal under a proposed amendment to Atlanta’s indecency laws.

The ACLU is a little concerned though.

American Civil Liberties Union Georgia president Debbie Seagraves said the proposal is too vague and would unfairly target African-Americans.

“We’re going to do that in a society that has already criminalized young black youth to the point (that) we already have hundreds of black men in prison,” Seagraves said.

Yes, that’s right. The ACLU is saying that Black American’s are more likely to get caught with their pants down.

Martin said the penalty would be a fine.

I say the penalty should be a fine pair of suspenders.

We’re still waiting for a word from the plumbers.

Hockey pays for the Rest

The CBC gets a 7 year deal with the NHL.

“This is financed completely out of private money … There is no public money involved in this deal,” said Stursberg, adding that revenue generated from the deal will help finance other, less-profitable CBC programs.

You mean, like the rest of them?

The deal will keep Hockey Night in Canada on the CBC until 2014, which, coincidentally, is the number of times Bob Cole states the obvious during a single broadcast.

Bettman said the new deal will feature fewer Toronto Maple Leafs games during the regular season, with more dates being allocated for other Canadian teams.

Looks like someone at CBC is going to have to buy a map to find the other Canadian cities.

Not ready to admit he's almost 30

January 20, 2007 Sheldon Kotyk Leave a comment

There’s disgusting and then there is the point far in the distance past disgusting.

Stiffler and Robert James Snow, 43, “were very upset when the detectives told them they had been having a sexual relationship with a 29-year-old man and not a pre-teen boy,” Quayle said.

It seems the 29 year old Neil H. Rodreick II fooled them into thinking that he was only 12. Apart from the fact that he was also enrolling in an elementary school as a 12 year old, this would actually be a funny story.

The police say the enrollment “may have been an attempt to lure children into sexual abuse.”

Either that or he was really trying to upgrade his fifth grade scores.

When are we going to stop letting these people back on the street???

Full story here.

Is it time to complete the sentence?

What Slippery Slope?

January 3, 2007 Sheldon Kotyk Leave a comment

It’s not a slope, it’s a cliff.

The Children’s Law Reform Act does not reflect current society, the appeal court judges ruled.

[Begin Sarcasm] I agree, current society should not have rules that prevent people from doing whatever they want. Relativism Rules! [End Sarcasm]

“The act does not deal with, nor contemplate, the disadvantages that a child born into a relationship of two mothers, two fathers or as in this case two mothers and one father might suffer,” the judges wrote.

Of course it doesn’t, it shouldn’t have to.
